KidsMatter is a mental health and well-being framework that enables staff and parents to work together to create learning environments that support children’s social and emotional well-being needs. Our committee has worked together to develop a program that addresses the key focus areas of KidsMatter:
- Creating a positive school community.
- Teaching children skills for good social and emotional development.
- Working together with families.
- Recognising and getting help for children with mental health problems.
KidsMatter has been important part of our classrooms in recent years. Since the introduction of the framework, Clifton Hills Primary School has celebrated many mental health days such as Crazy Hair Day, R.U.O.K Day and Harmony Day. KidsMatter has allowed our student body to develop resiliency, self-confidence, problem solving skills, growth mindset and a better awareness of taking care of our mental health.
