Science

Science is an integral part of Clifton Hills Primary School’s curriculum.  We endeavour to provide our students with hands-on-experiences to increase engagement and find ways to link science to their everyday lives.

In Kindergarten and Pre-Primary science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) concepts, are introduced through fun and inquiry-based learning, using everyday materials.  Play-based activities and child-centred experiences are aimed to inspire curiosity and interest.

Years 1-6 students investigate Biological Sciences, Earth and Space Sciences, Physical Sciences and Chemical Sciences by engaging, exploring, explaining, elaborating and evaluating the different ‘Science Understandings’.

The love of learning science is also enhanced by students having the opportunity to join different clubs within the school such as Science Lab Rats, First Lego League and Animal Warriors.  Find out more about our extra-curricular programs..
